One baby was strapped on my back, while the other crawled in the playground. I spent 12 hours days for months sanding and taking wallpaper off, all while carrying one kid. Ha! The house was starting to appear nice, however there was a lot left. It would take a great deal of effort and a love of shopping. My home was where I would host open houses in which more than 1,000 people were able to come in and purchase any product they wanted on the first floor over the course of a weekend. This is where my business Growing Days was born. Alongside my flourishing business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. It was essential to find the right balance to me. I wanted to be a mom and also a successful business owner. Growing Days was the obvious option. Nora my fourth child was born in 2013. I loved where my business was taking me, but I felt like I needed to take a breather. I got away from vintage furniture to spend the time I needed with my kids. It was exactly what I needed at the moment. It wasn't until a couple of months that the phones started to be ringing. They wanted my help in interior decoration and home renovations. A majority of those calling me came from people who attended one of my furniture open house events. After a while I began to take on customers according to my schedule. In no time, I was managing multiple accounts, as well as a house remodeling business. When you first told me about my home renovation business I was astonished. It's funny to think back to it.
