Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in the Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi, who later became a Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci at just the age of six. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 junior national championships, finishing 13th. After that she took home the title of champion. Three gold medals were awarded in her debut competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972, which was a communist bloc countries. In 1973 and 1974, she was the junior all-around champion. She topped Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva, the five-time European Champion in her first senior international competition held in the year 1975. At this competition, she took home four golds as well as a silver. In 1976, she was the first female to complete reverse double salos on the uneven parallel bar, as part of her demount. She was the winner at the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the entertainment business began in her teens when she started performing as a figure skater along with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, within Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career as an entertainer at the age of a teenager. At the age of a girl she started her career as Figure Skating Performer alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. These shows included ice skating performance that was accompanied by musical theatre.
